Hi, my name is Daphne Davoe (Miss Daffy).
I was born June 15, 1990. I am a
black/tan tweenie, about 13 lbs. I am the most loved and well behaved little
girl. I ruptured two disk's in September 95, had surgery and came out of
that paralzyed and unable to go potty myself. I have the best mommie, cause
she brought me home and has done everything to help me get well.
She bought me a K-9 cart and a walk-a-long. It was okay, but I have such a
great spirit, I decided to get out of that and try to walk. It took a long
time, but I got things built back up and am now walking. My mommie did so
much excersise's with me that I thought I would die. She would not let me
give up. She even took me in the pool with her.
I still can't go potty myself and have accidents in the house sometimes, but
mommie never punish's me, just cleans it up and says that's okay. She has to
express my bladder several times a day, but the good thing about that is we
live in Michigan and it gets very cold here, so mommie potty trained me on
the potty. Boy, is that nice.
I'm a very happy girl, even though I have a handicap. I walk, eat, sleep, and
play real hard, and have a fur ball brother that bugs me, so at least I get
some exercise.
I have just started in 97, receiving accupuncture treatments, to see if they
will improve my walking, and mommie has put me on all kinds of vitamins per
the doctor.
The only thing I feel bad about, is people who do not understand, stare and me
and ask questions about why I walk like that. They don't understand that
everyone has a handicap, mine is just visible.
My wish to everyone, is that they can find a loving mommie and a good home
like I have, and don't ever give up. Your hard headed doxie spirit is what
will keep you going. LOVES TO EVERYONE.
