We had Tinker Bell for 14 plus wonderful years. She was a female smooth red-haired dachshund
with a loving disposition. I really learned love and trust from her. Her most endearing trait
was the frantic welcome she would give me whenever I returned after more than a 10 minute
absence. Although quit ill for her last 2 years her loving disposition never changed.
It will be a great joy to be with her once again at Rainbow Bridge.
We have had Tinker Toy
for 7 years. Except for shorter legs she is a near clone
of Tinker Bell. We kept the name "Tinker" in Ms Bell's honor. Tinker Toy
seems to love everyone and makes her affection know by sitting on laps and
offering kisses. After being the princess of our house for 5 years it amazed
us how readily she accepted Tippy O'Toole. She claimed "alpha dog" status and
proceeded to adopt him as we did.
We adopted Tippy O'Toole from a dog shelter. He clearly had been abused and was in poor shape-
both mentally and physically. It took a great deal of TLC from my wife and I and especially
from Tinker Toy to gain his trust. The poor little guy had only been with us 3 days, and was
recovering from being fixed, when the big Los Angeles earthquake hit. Then shortly after he became
quite ill, probably due to his prior abuse/neglect, and we almost lost him. Today he is healthy
and loving to us but still mistrustful of strangers.
