Autoradiography of a 20% DPAGE gel following incubation with mechlorethamine of duplexes of the sequence shown (where X-Y = C-G or C-C, and M and/or N = G or D (N7- deazaguanine). In all experiments only the top strand (that containing X) was labeled. Lanes labeled M include 100mM mechlorethamine and lanes labeled 0 are controls (no mechlorethamine). Bands are identified as X (crosslink), M (monoadduct), and S (unreacted single strands). |
