Community & Public Health Action Committee
The Keck AMSA Community & Public Health Action Committee is dedicated to protecting and improving the health of the Los Angeles County community. Our foci include: preventive medicine, health education, control of communicable diseases, application of sanitary measures, and monitoring of environmental hazards.

As the scope of public health is vast and multi-faceted, we are dedicated to fostering an increased sense of social responsibility in physicians-in-training at Keck and to providing opportunities for students to participate in community service and outreach.
Programming put on by our team includes patient education workshops, community health fairs, fundraising for AIDS Walk Los Angeles, and blood drives, to name a few. As partnerships are vital to outreach efforts, we strive to connect with other organizations serving the local LA community. We currently work with the Keck Patient Education Student Group, Violence Intervention Program, Red Cross Los Angeles, Los Angeles Needle Exchange, Habitat for Humanity, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, USC Blood Donor Center, and various community medical clinics.
