Do you like your smile? What would you like to change about it? Statistics show that 4 out of 10 Americans are not satisfied with their smiles and 8 out of 10 Americans would like to change something about their smiles. A small change in the color, shape, alignment, size, gum level and/or contour might have a great impact on the outlook of any smile. By understanding the characteristics of a beautiful smile we are able to design the most attractive smile one. Crowns, bridges, Veneers, Composite Resins, soft & hard tissue contouring, at home or Laser bleaching and implants may be used to achieve the desired results.

To achieve the best proposed results; pictures using a professional digital camera are taken for the patient’s face and smile. The pictures are then acquired by the computer, enhanced and manipulated by special imaging software. Spaces between the teeth can be closed, teeth can be bleached, missing teeth can be replaced, chipped or crocked teeth can be fixed, gummy teeth can be exposed to the desired length and a golden proportion between the sizes of the teeth can be established. All this without starting the active treatment. In fact a patient can choose a smile from a smile library available in the computer or bring a picture of a smile the patient wants to copy.

There are many advantages for utilizing this technique. The patient will see the future results before any irreversible cutting is performed on the teeth. The dentist will have better understanding of the patient’s needs and expectations. The patient can participate in the treatment planning in an efficient and positive way and can choose from different treatment options.

The final results of the real treatment might not necessarily be exactly the same results generated by the computer. The manual dexterity of the operating dentist and the laboratory technician, the materials used in the operation, the maturity of the treatment planing and the amount of freedom the patient gives to the dentist, all of these will determine the end results of the actual treatment.
