My name is Gretchen. I'm a smooth mahogany Miniature Dachshund, born
April 27, 1986. I have bad allergies to just about everything - grass, trees, dust,
mold, and so on. I used to have to wear baby t-shirts all of the time to keep all
of that bad stuff off of my skin, but years of allergy shots have finally made me
so much better that I get to run around naked all of the time. I sure do like
getting to go outside and feeling the grass tickle my tummy!

My favorite activities are eating, sunbathing, sleeping, eating, going for rides,
chewing on rawhides and eating. I also spend lots of time patrolling the kitchen
floor for crumbs, but they're few and far between. I've had two surgeries for
bladder stones, so my food intake is very strictly controlled. Oh well, I guess
it's better than having those owwies.

I live in Texas with my mom, Karen, and my little sister, Sally. She is a rescue
Dachshund who's had a rough time of it. Mom and I love her --- so will you.
